Welcome to the Delaware Valley Chapter website. The mission of the Nam Knights is to honor the memory of American Veterans & Police Officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, to assist Veterans and Police Officers in their time of need; to promote community awareness through sponsorship & participation in various community & fundraising events.
To all Nam Knights & Supporters,
“My grandson’s name is Thomas Gibson, he will be 4 on June 9th, 2015. When he was born, he had Hirshbrung disease, which is when the small intestines are not developed or connected to the colon. He was medevac’d from Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, New York to Westchester Medical Center, where he spent the first seven months of his life. They removed a third of his intestines and had to build a new colon and reattach his intestines. February 2015, he was diagnosed with neurelastoma cancer. He is stage 4, high risk and it has spread to his lymph nodes and all through his bone barrow. As to date, he has gone through five chemotherapy sessions, each lasting three to four days. He has lost all of his hair and weighs a mere thirty pounds. This past week, he went through stem cell harvest and replacement. If all goes well, he will have surgery on May 18th to remove the tumor and, if all goes well, he will start a second round of chemotherapy and radiation. He will have to be monitored for the rest of his life because this cancer can and does come back. Right now, my son Sean and his wife Fannie, along with Thomas’ twin sister are living in East New York because they cannot be more than 15 to 20 minutes from Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.”
Buddy Gibson is a Vietnam Veteran and retired Law Enforcement Officer. He is an original Charter Member of Nam Knights as well as a Life Member in the organization. He was President of the Parent Chapter from 1992 to 1996 as well as a founding member and President of the NKMC Hudson Valley Chapter. He and his wife Josie now live in Delaware County, NY where he is a founding member and original President of the NKMC Southern Tier Chapter.
A page has been set up by the Nam Knights Parent Chapter to enable members and our supporters to donate and help this very brave young man, his family and all of the expenses not covered by insurance. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
