On 8-1-1959 at 10:51PM, he was dispatched to investigate water coming from the highway. The street caved under him at N. 5th St. and W. Clearfield St and he went onto the sewer system. Officer was not found until 8-8-1959 when his body was discovered at Richmond St. and E. Somerset St. – Cause of death: Drowning.
